  Thoreau was born in Concord. His father is the owner of a small pencil factory, living in poverty. But the small Thoreau in the teachers sisters support, entered the Harvard University. In 1845 Thoreau built a hut with his own hands on the banks of Lake Walden; he lived there until 1847. During this time he completed the trip to the Concord and Merrimack River. After leaving the log cabin, Thoreau in the Emerson home to complete the Walden the first draft.
